888 To Buy William Hill Business After Record 2021

27/01/2022
Online casino and sports betting company 888 are poised to purchase William Hill’s non-US assets from Caesars Entertainment in the second quarter of 2022.
The firm reported record sales in 2021 with a 14% increase from the previous year and things could have been even better.
This successful year for 888 set up the firm for big moves and now they expect to complete the William Hill deal. The agreement with Caesars is worth an estimated €2.61 billion or $3 billion. It also agreed to sell its bingo business to Saphalata Holdings Ltd, part of Broadway Gaming Group.
Due to obstacles, such as a challenging German igaming market and withdrawing from the Netherlands market, 888’s fourth quarter in 2021 was disappointing, with revenue 16% lower than the same period in 2020.
Overall though, 888 made gains through expansion, with business in Italy, Portugal, Romania and the UK making the most difference, bringing in almost three quarters of the company’s earnings.
